Planned with architect

Planning with your architect can allow Kevlar SafeRoom to function as Laundry Room, Bathroom or closet.
Sizing option

KEVLAR SafeRooms are offered in standard sizes 4'x6', 4'x8, 6'x6' etc... up to 12'x12' in 12" increments. Wall length ratios must remain no more than 2:1. Custom sizes also available cut to the inch. Three ceiling heights are also available up to 96" interior. 96" ceiling requires 9' of vertical clearance.
The Door

KEVLAR SafeRoom doors have four 1" steel hinges and six 1" steel striker pins that engage the steel jamb. FEMA compliance requires "three points of contact on hinge and striker side" Our door exceeds FEMA's standards. Doors come with fiberglass 6 panel skin at no extra charge.
Ours vs theirs

There are three primary options for above ground SafeRooms/Shelter. A concrete bunker, a steel box with one wall on hinges or the StormRoom™ with DuPont™ Kevlar®. Any good shelter will save your life in a Tornado. The KEVLAR SafeRoom using DuPont's Aramid Fabric, unlike steel reinforced concrete or a steel box will not impede RF signals. Therefore, your cell phone, lap top and weather radios will all function inside the shelter. Keeping you and connected to the vital information.
